I really went back and forth on whether I liked this book, as I was reading it. There were times when I couldn't put it down and other times where I felt it was severely dragging. It's definitely a slow burn and, in my opinion, is not necessarily a "horror" book but rather a psychological thriller of sorts. It all comes together near the end and I feel like this book is one of those that requires a second read, through knowing eyes; it would probably be a completely different read. 3.5 stars rounded up to 4.
