Dramatic, fabulous, everything I wanted to read about queer nerds doing cosplay. Disaster gays are such a joy to read.

I don’t think I have ever read about someone who does cosplay and this book was truly something new. I loved the MC and the LI, they were so cute together! The only downside for me was that it was a bit slow and I wish the backstory was finished earlier in the book. But otherwise an amazing audiobook!

This was such a fun and cute read, and perfect for #Pride season! The book follows Raffy as he throws himself into the world of competitive cosplay to follow his dreams. Obviously not everything is glitter and bedazzling in the world of competitive arts and crafts, and Raffy comes face to face with his biggest competition: his ex, Luca. The story jumps back and forth between the intense reality tv-like competition and the tale of how Raffy and Luca’s relationship blossomed and fell apart. It is a sweet story that makes you feel all the feels about young queer love, feeling adequate and finding your people. Not to mention the INSANE cosplays the characters put together and the detailed descriptions of how these elaborate outfits come together. Ryan La Sala did an incredible job at telling this story, and ya’ll should check it out!

This book wasn't earth shattering or anything, but it was perfect.

I finished this gem (get it?) last night before going to sleep. I then dreamt of Raffy and Luca most of the night. “Be Dazzled” is a cute, charming story of young love. I found myself connecting to Raffy in ways I never anticipated. I have zero creative ability. I can’t draw a stick figure, let alone create costumes. But, there are aspects of his personality that ring true for me. Once I started reading, I couldn’t put this down. I love this story more than I thought I would.

A friend who I've known for over a decade texted me to ask if I'd heard of this book because it seems like my thing. And you know what? It was cute. I read it in like a day. But I've really outgrown a lot of YA since when we first met and I read a ton of it.
