"This book is about four girls, who are all very different, but are closer than anyone could imagine. This would be their second summer together, or rather apart, with the pants in their lives. They go through many changes in their lives. With Bridget off in Alabama, Tibby in College, Carmen in a constant battle with her mom, and Lena falling back in and out of love it is bound to have some twists and turns. But its lucky they have eachother for everything.
This book is set in Bathesda, Maryland, Santorino, Greece, and Williamston College. Bridget is definitely the most outgoing and flirtatious of the bunch. Lena is the quietest, but the most beautiful. Tibby isn't quite sure what kind of person she is, but she is definitely on that path. Carmen has the biggest temper, but can be the most sincere and the deepest.
The theme of this book is the summer life of these four girls. They all must once again live through the twists and urns of being a teenager. The pants add just a touch of magic to the situation. As they motivate Bridget to shed those extra pounds, they motivate Lena to stay true to herself and be the better person. They give Lena the confidence to try to love again, and give Carmen the patience to help her half-sister, as well as her mom." (From Amazon)

A great series for girls...I wish more girls read this series versus Gossip Girl. A great second book.

Starts slower which is likely why I didn’t finish it as a young teen. A couple major twists later on in the book though which are very emotional.
I find it interesting that while Tibby and Carmen’s stories are easily the most compelling of the four in the first book, the opposite is true of this one- Lena and Bee’s are far more compelling here. Felt like Tib and Carmen just spent a lot of time learning the same lessons they did in book 1.
Also, I don’t like the implication that B’s mom “gave up too easily” at everything, that’s an insult to anyone who’s ever dealt with mental health issues.

This might not be the best book in the world, but to the PMS-ing me, it's perfect. It takes me back to high school and my three best friends.
