I liked this one and think it has a lot of important information regarding abortion, but I was underwhelmed by the ending. Not my favorite of hers, but still totally worth the read.

This was such a slog, and I really did not like the timeline structure. The arguments built into the book are well researched and well-integrated, but the characters just weren't memorable or engaging. That was really disappointing to me because I am so here for the issues this book discusses.

Jodi Picoult does it again. She has a way of weaving a story that keeps you engaged and wanting more. This is an incredibly touchy subject and she has addressed it in a way that will make anyone think on either side.

Initially, I really didn't like this book. It seemed to repeat itself but from different characters' perspectives. There also seemed to be too many characters introduced very early in the book who you only started to care about near the end of the book. However, I powered on through. The last 50 pages were significantly better. I wish it had explained more what happened to the rest of the characters after the fact. I think I would enjoy this book a lot more a second time as I know the characters better

One of the best books I've read in a while! I love the way it's written in reverse chronological order. You know exactly what happens from page one and throughout the book you realize how and why those characters are there in that moment. I also love the amount of research that was put into writing this book. Not only the facts and statistics surrounding abortions and each side of the argument: pro-choice vs pro-life, but every other small detail like which universities in Mississippi are rivals that really makes this book special.

Another great one by Jodi Picoult.
What I love about Jodi's books is that typically, they touch very controversial subjects and make you think. This one was no different.

The storyline of this book is about a shooting that takes place at an abortion clinic. It follows many of the different background stories of those involved with the shooting/victims, etc.

So well written and captivating.

HOWEVER many triggers so not for everybody ✨️✨️✨️

A story-telling method of moving backwards 1 hour per chapter brings a cast of characters to life in a unique manner. Despite knowing how the story will turn out for much of the cast, this was a fascinating way to provide back-stories, while still keeping the reader in suspense about the most important people in the story.

This was a very powerful book from Picoult. She tackled a very hot-button issue and handled it gracefully. While the author's opinion on the topic was pretty apparent from the get-go, she still included characters with differing thoughts in order to fully reflect the various 'sides' to the big abortion debate. These characters were multi-faceted and complex, showing readers that humans are complicated and cannot be put in a box that is simply 'pro' or 'anti' when it comes to anything.
