I’m 82% done and I give up. This isn’t a book about a librarian, it’s a book about a ruthless fine-art and books dealer, so her wealthy boss can hoard it all. Plus, too much “romance”, crappy family relationships, familial guilt by the truckload, and not one character I liked. I got a burst of energy halfway through the book after reading the Wikipedia entry about Belle, but that quickly fizzled after she went back to her asshole lover.

Great read based on the true life of JP Morgan’s personal librarian passing as white in order to hold this prestigious position of acquiring books and art for his library. I’m enjoying reading historical fiction about kick ass women that have been neglected in stories of the past. Belle De Costa Greene is one such accomplished and amazing woman that frequently used her intellect to outsmart a room full of men that under-estimated her skill. Very well researched and written and read by the audiobook reader.
