This book was so good! I was completely moved by it. Very well written and an amazing love story. The characters were well developed and I couldn't help being touched. I laughed, I cried, I swore....this book made feel so many things and was definitely worth the read.

I absolutely loved this book. The amount of tension in the chapters had me sitting on the edge of my seat more thn I expected.

I ordered this online a few years ago after looking for romance books set in the social movements of the 1960s - an era I’ve always found interesting and a genre I like. This one has been on my shelf since and I finally picked it up recently. It’s not terrible but halfway through I found the dialogue just didn’t ring true. Predictability is also to be expected in more formulaic genres but I especially like romance books that step outside the norms/tropes in some way. This one just didn’t and there’s too much else I’m eager to read to continue trying to push through it.

Definitely the best IR I read!!!! It was not ''cliché'' and put me on a rollercoaster of emotions!!!

Loved this book. The characters and storyline were realistic. As a reader, you were on the journey right along with our two main characters, Benjamin and Coralee. Their struggle to be together notwithstanding the real dangers they face just to be seen studying together. Their apprehensions, hopes and dreams were true to the 1960s setting.

I liked the book, but some I couldn’t get past some of the grammatical errors. I also disliked how the last chapter was written.

I was expecting something a bit different from this, but I still really enjoyed it. It was maybe a little bit soapy and predictable, but it kinda worked - I was engrossed and wanted to see what happened to these characters and had the same sense of dread at points where you're just wating for things to go wrong. As I said, it was kinda soapy, but I was into it.

It was also one of the few books where an epilogue didn't actually ruin it - which is a minor miracle in itself.

It was a quick read, the characters were very likeable and although I think some things could have been improved upon, it was worth a read.
