In Finished we have Julia, Drayton, and Mike in a relationship. At the point we come in, it feels more like Julia is in a relationship with Mike and Julia is in a relationship with Drayton. Even though the guys were friends for years before they met Julia, we get the feeling that something is going on there.

Drayton is hiding something, something that definitely affects Julia and may threaten her life. He is lying and keeping secrets, and Mike is starting to feel like this is a bad situation for him and Julia.

And so the story goes.

The erotic scenes were scorching hot. Claire Kent is excellent at writing a spicy scene. At this point in their relationship both men focus on Julia and while I wouldn’t say they ignore each other, the tension between the two is definitely there. In the beginning I just thought it was that maybe one of them were falling for Julia and wasn’t happy with the three way relationship anymore. There is so much going on than that.

When it came to the suspense, the storyline was great. It was intriguing and I wanted to know what Drayton’s secret was.

That being said there was something missing for me and I couldn’t quite put my finger on it until I read another review that said they felt a connection was missing between the characters. That she didn’t get the feels from them. That was a bingo moment for me. That’s exactly what I was feeling. I didn’t feel this deep connection between them and they didn’t give me the feels. I wonder if it’s because we come in at the part of their story where things are deteriorating? I don’t know. I just didn’t get that hope that I get when I see a relationship floundering and I’m rooting for the couples. I kept reading because I wanted to know what Drayton’s secret was.

All in all it was a good read. If I would have felt that connection between them it would have been better for me, but I still enjoyed the storyline.

Thank you so much for my copy of Finished.

Boring; melodramatic premise (jewel thief); disappointing ending.
