HOLY CANOLI. WHAT A ROLLERCOASTER

I had to pick my jaw up off the ground the last 10% of
This book. I was NOT expecting THAT

There’s a LOT to unpack here

At first this starts as a stepdaddy stepdaughter forbidden trope (though the age gape is mild, 7 years) with rising politician stuff. Fine fine fine.

Enter Damian. Typical bad boy that every girls panties wet for with tons of money. Has some hidden beef with Kane (Cain? I listened so sorry for spelling). Ok. Fine fine.

Eden has some history with older men. Mommy issues. Ok. Fine fine. Where’s this going

Flashbacks. Senior year: Kane

Ok:
- abusive family ✅
- wants to be good politician (HAH) ✅
- wants to impress abusive family ✅

Catches girlfriend being screwed by Damian- ah here comes Damian. You think

I think it was pretty well written but I was not prepared for the level of darkness.

Phew
What a ride.

You know when you start a book and you immediately feel like you know what will happen? You find the plot too common? Yeah neither happened here.
As much as I love reading books where I'm prepared for any surprises, this one I went kinda Blind and I regret nothing.

It was so raw and hot. The characters aren't heroes at all, and the author doesn't hide that. She actually warns the readers. I can't say much due to spoilers, it's better if readers dive bling so they can enjoy it more, it's a bumpy ride and you experience every nuance of emotions here, and you can wait for a freakin plot twist that you wont see coming even when you are close to it.

I pretty much loved this book, it was an easy 5 ⭐️.
It was the first book by this author and I look forward to reading more of her work, also the other Cards of Love books. Seems like they are nothing short of amazing as well.

Wowowow.
This was my first taste of MM enemies to lovers, bully vibes and I’m blown away. The story kept me invested and curious but it’s taboo and really spicy!

(The final scene had me dying a bit, just because Cain is an asshole….

I DNFed this book within the first two chapters. I personally am not upset by age gap romances, but my line is when there is ANYTHING while one is underage. They set it up for her to be nearly 18 and him to stop mid action before intercourse, but he had already known her for 4 years while he was a youngish adult the entire 4 years. I just cannot, meet as adults if a few weeks and all would be okay but this is a line I can’t cross.
