Two minds about this.

The romance was nice. It was cute and I couldn't stop reading. However I'm not sure if its down to it being a little like a train wreck amd not being able to look away.

Hero came close in my opinion to slut shaming. Felt a little weird at points. Heroine seemed naive and too nice. Nobody is perfect and she felt very rosey.

Made it to chapter 20, but I just can't stand the bashing of other women by men to make the heroine feel better about herself.
Spoiler He is incredibly rude to a past date and goes on to say that some women are not worth bringing to nice restaurants, only trash for sex. No woman is "trash". Find another way to make the heroine feel special!

Book 1 in Hope Valley Series. A spin off from Civil Corruption series. For fans of Marco from Consume, we do get a sneak peek of him here. But his book comes a bit later. But in this book, Lincoln turns out to be the brother of one of the guys from the band that toured with civil corruption. So that’s how the series is connected to the last.

Anyway, in this book, we have Lincoln and Eden. Lincoln was a ladies man. But he never got too serious about any woman he was with. He meets the new woman in town, Eden, and doesn’t really think much of her. But when he has to spend time with her for a job, he finds himself quickly falling for her. And when he breaks her heart, he has to work hard to win her back.

And while all this is happening, there is a series of robberies happening in town, and Eden may be connected. And it may put her in a little bit of danger. Which, of course makes Lincoln go crazy. Lincoln was a good guy. I did like him. But I didn’t like what he did to Eden. So it was kind of tough to really take him seriously because I knew he was going to end up hurting her. And he did end up hurting her. And I think she forgave him too quickly. I was ready for tears and groveling from him. And I didn’t get that.

But for the most part, this was a cute romance, with a little bit of suspense thrown in. It was a good introduction to this little town and I can’t wait to read what the other residents get up to.

The girls really tore into this one but my suggestion would be to ignore the reviews and give it a fair chance. Eden is a very sweet character. At times, I wanted to choke Lincoln but that's just how I feel about most men tbh. Rocky the rescue pup was the real star for me. I loved that this was a nice balance of romance, and found family, with some action to spice things up. Overall, quite an enjoyable read.

In typical Jessica fashion this book is super cute!
What surprised me towards the end was that but if surprise and suspense!

I think my favorite part of this book is that Eden isn’t a stick, she’s not as large as I’d have liked, but I love that Jessica makes her characters have real bodies. Love love love it!

I don’t have too much to say about this book, Lincoln is a babe, Eden is adorbs, so cute.

I’m DEFINITELY excited for Hayes book, coming in March!

All Eden ever wants was a place to call home. She thinks she has finally found that. It doesn't take long for her to have a huge crush on her neighbor, Lincoln, a playboy. Only now he seems interested back, finally.

Drama aside, this was really cute. I wish Lincoln didn't start their relationship the way he did but I understand why and eventually Eden does too.

family drama - robberies - a sweet German shepherd - kidnapping and assault
