This is a fun introduction to a series. There are four girls who are fostered and each of their stories is written by a different author which gives each girl a unique voice yet they complement each other.

What a delight was to be introduced to these characters! In this first book in the Soul Sisters at Cedar Mountain Lodge, we meet Jo, Stevie, Alissa and Hailey as school aged girls. Each girl has experienced loss and found themselves in the foster care system. Maddie is a school guidance counselor who has experienced her own tragedy. She decides to take in the four girls who are in need of a home at Christmastime and gives them a place to belong. The viewpoint is told from each of the girls by a different author. I enjoyed meeting these girls, and am looking forward to their separate stories as the series continues.

Christmas Sisters is the first book in a new anthology featuring several authors. It is the book that introduces all of the characters. Each of the characters has a portion of the book written from their perspective, each by a different author, which I think is fantastic. It really gives each character their own voice. I really love all of the characters. The sisters are all strong girls who have really gone through a lot in their lives, though the oldest one is only 15. Maddie, the mother figure, is so warm and loving - she is like the dream mom.

The storyline so far is both tragic and heartwarming. All of the characters have experienced some sort of loss, but are offered a new beginning right before Christmas. The descriptions of the setting are vivid and beautiful, like a movie perfect Christmas.

I am not familiar with all of the contributing authors, but the combination of writing styles works extraordinarily well together. Tess Thompson, one of my favorite authors, is a contributing author, and her portion is just as I expected - very well written. Her books are always amazing, and Christmas Sisters is no exception.

I really enjoyed this book, and can’t wait to read the rest!

This prequel book was amazing! The stories of five unlikely people coming together during Christmas is a tale I want to keep reading. Luckily, Maddie, Jo, Stevie, Alissa, and Hailey have more to tell in the series of books coming out in October! Special thanks to one of the authors for an ARC of Christmas Sisters for me to read and review. I can’t wait to see what happens with these characters and their stories!

A wonderful story concept. Loved the fact that a separate author voices each character.
I can't wait to read more about this unique family.
