I think this my favorite book so far from Maltese and McRae. It has a magical, haunting quality that defies easy categorization. One of my favorite things in a romance is when I love all the characters, not just the central ones. It's about weird people who have weird damage for different reasons and how they just keep going and working and put their lives together. There's something incredibly hopeful about it all. Absolutely the thing I needed this year.
