Not gonna lie, i choose this book to read because it was the shortest of my “want to read” list, hence I thought it would be a fast read. I couldn’t be more wrong.
The time-jumps, the unaddressed Stockholm syndrome (for example, i love Twist Me and dark romance books, but the poorly way the author write it, made it insufferable to read), Ophelia also got on my nerves some times (she wanted to be treated as woman but acted as a girl).

Anyways, i had big expectations that weren’t reached, and that’s on me for creating them on the first place.

This is the start of a series connected to the Rose & Thorn series and I have to say, I think this one played with my head even more.

Fawn more than delivered with this book, it's dark, gritty and depraved, but there's a strage beauty running through the lines of the story in true Fawn Bailey fashion.

Right from the start I had no idea who to root for. My heart broke for Max, but then I'd love Ryker. I wanted to hate Kain for what he did, but then three was something about him that made it hard for me to. All the little twists and turns and revelations just kept playing with my mind to the point that I was going crazy.

As long as you like your stories with a sprinkle of Romance and whole heaping spoon of dark and depraved, this is the series for you!

Please note that if you're easily offended or triggered by dark themes, might want to try something else

I really enjoyed this book. It pulls you right in and keeps you hooked wanting to know more. I'm definitely looking forward to more in the series.
