if me and this book were breaking up, i’d tell it “it’s not you, it’s me.” but of course that’d be a lie. or half of it. although it was fast-paced enough, it couldn’t save the rest of the book. for some reason i found it tiresome and just wanted it to end. i couldn’t connect to the characters nor care about them and that definitely made my interest wane faster. i’ll probably come back to the series later but for now, on to the rebound.

This was such a fast and sweet read! I loved all the people, and the setting was peaceful and cozy, despite the murder and such!

Not a bad story, fairly predictable with no real twist to the ending, especially if you read as many cozy mysteries as I do. I didn’t really relate to any of the characters in this one so wasn’t really engaged by it.

After reading a random book later in the Booktown series first, it was great to read Lorna Barrett’s introduction to the town & characters.
I liked the bookstore setting, twin sister character dynamic and small town environment.
I’d definitely recommend reading this cozy mystery series in order, as the characters’ relationships develop across the books in the series, while each mystery is solved within each book.

Not a bad start to a new series and an improvement over the last couple I tried. The twin angle was clever and the side mysteries (Grace's non-Alzheimer's) were also interesting.
