This is basically like seamless fanfiction because it's done by the author and therefore perfectly congruent with her series. Some stories are better than others, I would venture to say, and The Little Android is a bit of an odd one that breaks away from the rest of them. I was only mildly disappointed because 1, I was hoping more of it would be focused on our main characters rather than random backstory characters, and 2, I thought for certain that the wedding teased in Marissa Meyer's interview was going to be between Winter & Jacin. I wouldn't say I was super disappointed, just surprised, and it ended up making sense that she chose that couple. The ending was very sweet, and I loved the story that showed us Kai's perspective of meeting Cinder.

I feel like I've ranked Rebecca Soler's performances so many times at this point that it's getting redundant, but I can only give her a 4/5 this time around unfortunately, due to whoever produced this audiobook. She was obviously sick or recovering from respiratory illness! I don't understand why they would force her to record before her voice was fully back to its normal state. It made the performance grating, as she sounds clearly stuffed up.

This book is a compilation of short stories that mostly fill in some of the gaps, so it’s a good informational book regarding some of the character backstory, and also having a good wrap up epilogue.

TLDR; 3 rating, it’s an anthology, and a couple of these were in the backs of the books already.
Content warnings at the bottom. :)

Every anthology I’ve ever read has had hits and misses. Most of these, unfortunately, were misses. I love The Little Android, which is the one exception, but most of these stories were in the backs of the original books. The one with Cinder’s dad, for example. And when I said I wanted Winter and Jacin’s relationship to be fleshed out, I didn’t mean that I wanted Winter to be unwittingly a player in someone’s continued sexual assault. It’s icky.

I wanted more of the Rampion crew. I know there’s the graphic novels, but I wanted more like the wedding story, which was very short and very rushed, if you ask me. And the fact that Kai upstages it by proposing to Cinder? The story says there’s a time skip, but they both seem like the immature teens they were in the series. UGH.

Rating: 3
Would I recommend? No, you could probably find The Little Android and the Rampion wedding story online somewhere.

Nice prequels that answer a few unresolved questions. The epilogue was also much appreciated.

Wonderful collection of novellas for the lunar chronicles series. This book really gave insight to side characters like Michelle Benoit but also all the protagonists from previous books. I would totally recommend this to someone who enjoyed the main books.
