as hard as i tried to reason it out, i couldn’t figure out who the killer was.  there is a reason this is one of the best-selling books of all time. it was paced well and executed sharply. i felt like the characters were each deep individuals, and successfully written as morally gray. the antisemitism and racism in the book is something to watch out for. it’s glaringly obvious even for the time period.

Iconic and rightfully so! This book had an increasingly tense atmosphere, suspicious characters and a very strange ending. I found the reveal to be slightly disappointing but overall, 4.5⭐️

Shocking ending and it was nice to finally read what all of my favorite books have been inspired by! I love that I can see how it inspired books like Daisy Darker and An Unwanted Guest. I didn’t love the language, but I’m glad I finally read this one!

wow wow wow. incredibly satisfying ending. the duel between vera and lombard was great. the order of the murders, too. after chapter 13 i was sure it was either blore or the judge, supporting my earlier suspicions, then they both died. but the twist was good. makes sense that lombard guessed the judge. this was really really well done. i feel a little bit cheated out of an ‘obvious’ reveal but looking back it was obvious (duh). 4 and a half stars. definitely definitely recommend (though if you’re reading this you already know what happens)

agatha christie is one smart lady because i would’ve been completely lost without the letter written to scotland yard holy cow. i kept trying to figure out or see if i could piece together who the killer was and not once did i guess correctly. i loved the explanation at the very end it’s so satisfying when everything is wrapped up in a nice little bow honestly. i don’t think mystery is going to top my favorite genre chart anytime soon but this one was really good!
