Harrowing read. Scott gets Alice's voice and situation perfectly. The only reason I didn't finish in one sitting is that I had to leave the house and go out, and as it was I was late.

I thought this book was beautifully written and amazingly plotted. This was very realistic and scarily so. It is chilling and sophisticated and will leave scars and shivers.

'Living Dead Girl' is a book by Elizabeth Scott that follows a fifteen year old girl named Alice. Alice is sexually/physically/emotionally abused by her captor, Ray until two other kids save her from him.
I liked the way the book was written; it was really easy to follow and the chapters were relatively short, which is a thing that I like. Ray was an incredibly well-written villain, and I can't recall actually fearing an antagonist in any other book before I read this one.
However, because he was so scarily written, it made the book a little hard to read in some places. Alice goes into graphic detail about the abuse that she receives from Ray; one of which includes a disgusting period blood scene somewhere in the middle of the book.
If you're not squeamish, then this shouldn't be of issue to you.
