The atmosphere!!! I felt a strong sense of desertion, unease, and foreboding while reading this; I honestly don't know how our MC managed to feel comfortable for even a millisecond there. I also appreciated how I didn't see any of the twists coming, and I was pretty shocked by one in particular. But the ending felt a little underwhelming to me. I was honestly hoping for something a bit more elaborate, or sinister than what we got

plus I'm almost never a fan of endings that have the MC get sentenced to something they didn't do, or released for something they did do. I prefer an ending with a bit more justice, but that's just me

. Other than that, I sincerely enjoyed this read, and will definitely read more by Ruth Ware in the future.
