An interesting book, easy to follow and full of interesting reflection on the seasons and the sabbat.
It made me think and I liked the style of writing.
It's a wiccan book and I think that Wiccan will be interested.
Recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine

I love this book. I thought the way it was organized was brilliant and easy to follow. It starts with the history of the Wheel and continues onto different sections starting with the Yule or Midwinter. Each Chapter/Section discusses the history during this time period and is filled with folklore, international celebrations, guidance, recipes for bettering oneself during these time periods, and rituals. Despite the author being a Wicca Priestess I felt this text would be beneficial for individual who is spiritual and has a desire to connect with nature.

Such a wonderful read! The writing is eloquent and makes us think about ways in which to connect with nature’s seasons and the wheel of the year. I really enjoyed the recipes and rituals and learning more about the author’s relationship with magic and the different seasons.
Truly recommend for beginners and advanced practitioners alike or even just for curious minds.
Thank you NetGalley for the eARC in exchange for a honest review ✨

I received an eARC of this book from Netgalley in exchange for a fair review.

As a pagan, I often like to read books by others on similar paths and so when this popped up on Netgalley, I requested a copy. The book goes through each of the Sabbats of The Wheel of the Year, detailing themes, ritual ideas and personal anecdotes from the author.

- I enjoyed how the book was structured and the reasoning given by the author. This book is a balanced mix between information, inspiration and encouragement to develop your own practice and I think Beattie strikes that balance very well. I like the inclusion of ideas for rituals, poetry and stories to encourage the reader to go forward and find their own path for each Sabbat.

- Whilst acknowledgement is given to other geographies and pagan paths, this book heavily focuses on the authors location and sect of paganism. It mainly centres around the northern hemisphere (in particular the UK) and around the Wiccan faith. The contents could be used by anyone worldwide with small adaptation though and the author does heavily encourage deciding your own path in terms of the spiritual side. She clearly intends it to be used as inspiration rather than a rulebook to be adhered to.

If you're looking for a book to begin or enrich your journey through the Wheel of the Year, this book is an excellent choice. It's simple enough for beginners and contains fresh ideas for those with some experience.

I am not 100% the target audience for this book. While I love nature and noting the passing of time, I am not what anyone would describe as spiritual and so the rituals don’t appeal.
I really loved the history of each of the sabbats and would have enjoyed a book more deeply focused on that.

Thanks to Elliot and Thompson for the gifted copy.

I really enjoyed reading this book. Whether you believe or follow Wicca or not, this book centers nature around natural cycles in the year and explores the 8 sabbats and how an individual can celebrate them. I loved how the author included personal experiences of their own during each sabbat and how they also talked about the history of the celebration of the sabbat itself along with other cultural and religious celebrations that occur around the same time.  The recipes and rituals suggested throughout the book were well written, and I especially loved the recipes. This was a nicely written, well-thought-out, and detailed book that inspired me to learn more about the wheel of the year and how one can center nature and celebrate it during each time.
