This was a quick, cute read. I'd had it on my want-to-read list for a while, so it was nice that my library hold finally came in. I liked the fantasy and court intrigue aspects, along with the romance. I thought it was developed enough for the 180 or so pages, although I would have liked more overall exploration of the characters and world if the book had been longer. That said, I did think that the world building was interesting and satisfactory, as was the romance. I liked both Adale and Esofi. Adale grew on me. While at first she seemed immature and not very useful, she did put in effort and became more mature and likable somewhere around the forty percent mark. Esofi was wonderful, both badass and a dutiful princess. Overall, I was quite impressed by the characters, world building, romance, and court intrigue. 5 stars.

This was a kind of sweet YA fantasy f/f romance but it was also a bit of a mess. Plot points were brought up and abandoned at lightning speed, and there was way too much exposition (and pointless exposition, about things that are never mentioned again). There were conflicts raised that could have been interesting, but that then just disappeared - eg "I'm super religious and you are not, however are we going to resolve this divide? - oh I see we're never going to mention it again, jolly good." So, fun in points, but that's about it.

No chemistry and a dodgy story line at best.

I really enjoyed this and it was refreshing that the whole situation with the marriage was no big deal, it's all good. I'm excited to continue with the series and see what comes next! I love our two main characters, they so lovely!

I think this is a me thing, but I could have done with less set-up in such a short book. Still, it was a lot of fun, especially once the dragons arrived.

F/F? In MY fantasy romance? More likely than you'd think!

What a cool story. Princess Esofi is a boss, and I love her. It took me a while longer to grow fond of Princess Adale, but she won me over eventually. And that cover! Love love love!
