Interesting novellas highlighting many of the events leading up to the first book. However, I still want to know how it is that Valora cheated.

Fun collection of short stories from the powder mage series - background, they don't drive the main story but are fun to come back to after finishing the rest.

Overall rating: 3.6 (I have rated most of the stories individually)
'Green-Eyed Vipers' only: 4. Great seduction-gone-wrong story. I love all these court intrigue stuff. And I want more Tamas!

Wait, but didn't Taniel meet Ka-Poel when he saved her from slavers? I'm so confused.

Also I need a whole novel of Taniel, Vlora and Bo being kids. A novella wasn't enough. I need all of their youthful adventures, I need to know how/when Bo found out he was a Privileged, I need to know when Taniel and Vlora started to fall for one another...I need all of those things.

I specifically got this short story collection for the unpublished "Green-Eyed Vipers" story since I have already read all the other stories as they came out. If you haven't read them then get them all in this one collection, they help fill in pieces and flesh out characters from the Powder Mage trilogy.
