At times the poems were a bit opaque, but the rich language kept me engaged. Who doesn't love a chapbook that can be read in one sitting?

I enjoyed this little book. A lot of poetry collections have seemed to drag on because I was struggling with the poems so much, but I breezed through Exit Pastoral. For the most past the subject matter was lighter than a lot of what I’ve been reading poetry-wise, which was a change. My favorite poems were “Faggot practice” and “Florida sad boys.”

Wow, what a collection. As a queer southern poet, I wanted to read an experience of another and I was certainly treated.
