Awww this one had a ton of heartwarming moments which I totally did not see coming.
SpoilerThat first fight with Ju Fa and Tao Fa, I was expecting at least two of them to die, but I'm so glad it ended on a happy note. The Aza brothers rock. idk how many times I've said it by now.

Rien choosing to invade the mainland was something I never saw coming. I was hoping they all could just make it out of the island and live happily ever after but oh well. If this means we'll get to see Yui sooner, I'm on board with it.

Shion and Nurugai aaaahh very cool, showing his traumatic backstory tricking us into thinking he's gonna die getting his revenge like all badass heroes do, only for Nurugai to come in and save the day, I love her sm protect this child. The way Tenza plays such a big role in their lives even after his death so true besties, me too

But the thing I was dreading the most happened, the Asaemons and the shinobi have approached my beloved children and I'm genuinely scared for their lives. Shugen freaks me out more than Lord Tensen which is saying something. I pray this ends well

'Hell's Paradise' Volume 9 is jammed packed with action and ends on quite the cliffhanger. It's interesting to see the character progression between the different criminals and executioners. With the next antagonist finally encountering our protagonists in this volume, I can tell that the next volumes are likely to be action packed as well. I was a little disappointed that there was less time with Gabimaru in this volume though I do really like the other characters so it was still engaging.

The dual tensen is defeated. They embrace each other (kinda like Demon slayer Entertainment district). Shino and Naguri battle a tensen and have a bonding moment. The second landing party arrives in Horai.

Now we're talking! I was waiting for a volume like this. This one was much better compared to the previous ones. It made me emotional but I was also super hyped all the time. Of course, the MVP of this volume is Shion, our blind Sensei. The scenes including him and Nurugai were amazing. I'm also loving the character development of the others like Aza Chobei and even the Dragon dude. The ending has a nice twist and I'm really excited about what happens next. Hopefully, it will continue at this pace.Â
