As expected in the book, Penelope causes a lot of trouble with this whole "Mrs. Schoonmaker thing". I must say the book took a really long time to resolve all of the problems. At one point I couldn't take all the drama and wanted to throw the book away. Nevertheless I kept reading.
The book had some key climaxes like the relationship with Diana and Greyson and Teddy wanting to go to war, which of course, kept me reading.
All in all the book held my interest right down to the end, and I enjoyed it too.

My favorite part was when everyone joined the army. Gossip Girl meets Arrested Development?

<3 I absolutly love this series. And this book was just as perfect as the previous two.

I still don't believe Will is dead. That was just too shocking for me and I can't believe that Elizabeth is letting her mother guilt her into doing things for the sake of their reputation. I'm really disappointed that my favorite storyline doesn't get any better.
Furthermore, I just get even more frustrated with the Diana/Henry pairing. It's really agonizing to read about.
I hated that most of this book was not set in Manhattan but I guess I can forgive that. I was curious to see how people did the beach back then.
I feel like I was annoyed the whole time I was reading this book, but I did read it straight through. I gave it a three but it's probably a 2.5. I just want closure so I will read the last one.

Frothy, scandalous, and delicious! Here are the "mean girls" of the turn-of-the-century. Great sequel!

Though not incredible books, this series has been entertaining and keeps me coming back. The characters are well written and the vocab is rich!
