I went into this expecting a Friday the 13th level queer camp horror. What I got instead was an escape from a cult with so much religious trauma, it was hard not to relate to. This book was fantastic and a thrilling ride to the end. Highly recommend.

First Chuck Tingle I've read, and it was quite a ride. I loved the main character and her little semi-found family and the overarching plot. Pacing was a bit dragged out in the beginning and rushed at the end. There were a couple things that weren't quite resolved in a satisfying way, but I would read another horror by him again.
Graphic: Homophobia and Religious bigotry
Moderate: Xenophobia
