Reputation is the second book in the Mason Family series. This book is told from dual points of view from Coy Mason and Bellamy Davenport.

Coy and Bellamy were best friends and next door neighbors in a small town growing up. Coy and Bellamy had feelings for each other, but then he left for Nashville to be a Country Music star. Something happened to Bellamy and when she needed Coy he ignored her. So she decided she hated him.

Now Coy is home trying to stay out of the tabloids due to something his publicist did. He's trying to figure out what to do next with his music career. When Bellamy shows up at his door to see his mom. They would banter and bicker at first, but then feelings came back into play.

Can Bellamy learn to give her heart back to Coy? Can Coy be there for Bellamy when she needs him? Can Coy save his reputation from the Tabloids? What will happen when he has to go back to Nashville for his career.

This book was amazing and I could not put it down. It was great to see Holt (his brother) and Blaire from the first book in the series. As well as Larissa and Hollis from The Relationship Pact book. I can't wait for Boone's story next! This series as well as every Adriana Locke book I've read has been a great read!

What an emotional ride! Reputation was a roller coaster I never wanted to get off. Coy and Bellamy stole my heart right from the beginning. A mix of all my favourite tropes, enemies to lovers, second chance, childhood friends... amazing.
Adriana Locke is one of my favourite authors and she did not disappoint once again. Reputation is the second book in the Mason Family series. It can be read as a stand alone but is far more fun to read with the back story of the family.

Nothing mind blowing. But Bellamy's hardships really got to me! She's an only child with her last remaining parent fighting cancer - tugged at my heart strings in such a personal way. The romance itself was mid, but I was so happy when her and Coy got together by the end.

4⭐️/5⭐️

I thought this book was very enjoyable. I think I’d read anything Adriana writes, because it’s pretty face paced and short! Which is always great. I was really intrigued with Bellamy and Coy’s story during The Relationship Pact and I just had to figure out what was going on between them. This book was very emotional, I teared up quite a bit while reading. Nonetheless I could understand both of their hesitation on the relationship, just wish how it wasn’t so back and forth but they are both likeable characters and so are the side characters!

SPOILERS AHEAD:
Things I liked:
  • Omfg he calls her Bells, that’s so cute
  • “the way her voice slides over me like a well-worn hoodie. ”
  • “She’s a powerhouse in her own right. And I fucking love it. ”
  • “Not even when I break a guy’s nose for fucking around on her because she “won’t put out.”
  • Coy was Bellamy’s first kiss
  • “What you see with Bellamy Davenport is what you get, and there’s something remarkably, insanely attractive about that. ”
  • “She looks up at him and beams. He grins back down at her.” (Bree and Coy)
  • Coy’s mom saying that Bellamy is smitten over Coy
  • Bellamy’s dad telling Coy he’s proud of him (that’s gonna hit hard later on)
  • Bellamy’s dad hoping Coy will still look after Bellamy once he’s gone
  • “And I know this is a lot to ask of you—”“It’s not,” I say, my voice rough and raw. “You have my word.”  “Thank you.”
  • “So you understand that I would never, would never, Bellamy, not be there for you.”
  • “Our relationship could be enemies-to-lovers, but it’s always heavy on the enemies and light on the lovers.”
  • “I’m just a silly girl who’s always had a thing for the boy next door,” I whisper back. His grin falters before growing again.”
  • “He chuckles. “I’m just a crazy guy who’s always had a thing for the hot, beautiful, and sexy girl next door.”
  • “I’ve got you,” he says. “Okay? I’ve got you.”
  • “He’s probably the best looking out of us all.” “I beg to differ.” She can’t see my grin, but it’s there.”
  • “A slow smile spreads across my cheeks. “You little shit.” She laughs. It’s music to my ears.”
  • “I lean over and kiss her. She melts into me, just like I knew—and hoped—she would.”
  • “The fact that he's smiling and I'm smiling, and he reaches for me like it's the most natural thing in the world—that's what I love most of all.”
  • “Being with you is the easiest thing that I’ve ever done. It’s crazy, Bells. Wild.” ”
  • HE JUST TOLD HER HE LOVES HER
  • “I’ve loved you since the day I made you eat that taco out of a leaf, mud, and grass,” he says. ”
  • “You’ve been in love with Bells since you were toddlers.” (Holt to Coy)
  • Coy driving Bellamy and her dad to his doctors appointment
  • Bellamy just told Coy she loves him back
  • BELLAMY’S DAD JUST TOLD HIS DOCTOR THAT COY IS HIS SON-IN-LAW YES
  • Coy asking if it will be alright to marry Bellamy
  • “I’d like to have kids with you too,” she whispers. “Someday.”
  • HE FIRED HIS AGENT. I GASPED
  • HE BOUGHT HER THE HOUSE SHE LIKED IM SCREAMING
  • Bellamy’s dad and Judy (Hollis’s ‘grandma’) hanging out
  • SHES PREGNANT

A life without tears is a life unlived.

This book was everything I wanted and more. Coy and Bellamy best friends, neighbors, lovers, and enemies. Coy Mason is back in town and all Bellamy needs to do is avoid him until he leaves again, because he always leaves. Unfortunately, Coy has other plans. Coy doesn’t really understand why Bellamy hates him. So being the charmer that he is he makes sure that he and Bellamy work out their issues.
This book have all the feels, I laughed, cried, and boy was their sparks flying from the word go. Definitely my favorite read.

3.5 stars!

Reputation is the emotional second chance story of Bellamy Davenport and Coy Mason and is the second book in the Mason family series but is interconnected with other series created by Adriana.

Coy and Bellamy have known each other since they were kids, growing up neighbours and best friends, but they have always had a spark, until things end on bad terms due to miscommunication when Coy leaves for his big break in the music industry. Bellamy has had a difficult childhood, losing her mother young, and now at the age of 24 having to care for her father with terminal cancer, so she’s never been very good at letting people in, especially after Coy’s treatment of her, and is a bit lost as to what she’s doing with her life. Coy’s now a country music star but returns home to Savannah after a scandal breaks to lay low. When he sees Bellamy, he thinks they can pick their friendship up where they left it, so is shocked by her icy reception. But being home in Savannah brings a whole load of questions as to what he wants from life, especially after facing the realities of Bellamy’s. Will this couple overcome their past miscommunication and be able to build a future, despite their separate paths?

This book felt incredibly personal to Adriana, as I know she went through something similar in her personal life last year, and her words made me sob. My heart ached for Bellamy and how she felt so lonely in the world, like she had no one to lean on, no one who would share her burdens, and her worry over her father. I could completely understand why she kept Coy at arm’s length because she didn’t want to be let down by him again, but it didn’t take long for her to realise he had been in her heart all along. Coy was so content with his superstar lifestyle but coming home made him reflect on what was important in his life, and realised he had his view skewed. He was scared of failure (what is it with these Mason men) but Bellamy showed him he could alter his life to fit everything he wanted into it, even if it did take a push from his older brother. I loved how their miscommunication was resolved so maturely, there was no dancing round it for pages on end, Coy just called her out and she told him, and from then on I knew this couple would be honest with their feelings.

I was slightly shocked by how everything seemed to resolve fairly quickly in the end, the whole plot did move quite fast, which isn’t my favourite aspect of a romance, but to be honest, it made sense for this couple. They had been denying their feelings for so long, and with everything else going on around them, they had a fairly easy choice to make. But what made this book for me was Adriana’s writing, her words were just so beautifully meaningful and felt like they had come right from the heart. The continuation of introducing the Mason family was really well interwoven into the plot, I am so ready to see each of the rest of the Mason brothers fall in love, especially Boone next! It was also so great to see some of the characters from the previous series, especially Larissa and Hollis from Adriana’s previous release, who stole my heart in his own way!

Reputation had all the emotions and heart-warming moments I expect from Adriana, but was also full of underlying messages, something she is so good at. I really love the world’s and family’s she creates, it’s like I am a part of the household when I read her books. I would highly recommend this romance read!

Quick Read

Coy and Bellamy. Friends. Enemies. Lovers. Not. They’ve run the gamut in their time knowing each other. He’s back home due to a media happening that was based on a fake relationship. She’s home taking care of her sick father. Bellamy has her reasons for staying away from Coy, but he doesn’t know why. I would have likes for her to have more of a backbone when it came to him, but as much as she said she wanted nothing to do with him, she fell back quickly. Will I continue the series? I’m not sure.
