An entertaining read with engaging folklore elements.
Sets the tone for the rest of the trilogy.

Good start to a trilogy of paranormal romance/suspense novels. Similar to her other paranormal trilogies. The characters and plot are appealing.

This was more of Stephen King horror novel than paranormal romance like I thought it was so I don't know why it kept being recommended to me by Goodreads.

Don't get me wrong. It was a good book but it was just to scary for me.

I'm afraid I will have nightmares for weeks now.

Every seven years a week of Terra strikes in the town of Hawkins Hollow, 310-year-old boys Caleb Hawkins Fox all Dale and gauge Turner on wittingly release a centuries old curse on there 10th birthdays. No it is 21 years later and Calib realises that he needs to find a way to stop the evil. Quinn black is a writer who writes articles and books about un natural happenings in small towns. She is drawn to the town of Hawkins hello because of the history and legends of the town. She also sees the things that Caleb and the other two friends can see what the locals can't. This connects her to town and to the quest to stop the evil. This is the first part of a trilogy, fox guage and their women will play their parts in the next two books. Would highly recommend this, really enjoyed it, Nora Roberts can turn her hand to any genre. I read the key trilogy last year however I think this beats it hands down and I really enjoyed that as well. I am not going to tell you what any of the couples gifts are as I think you should read it and find out for yourself. The next book is Fox and Leila's part in the quest.

Nora Roberts is not all about romance! This book has some love and romance in it, but the story itself would be labeled more thriller/horror genre. Great book! Can't wait to read the second one!
