This was a wonderful listening experience. Reminiscent and sweet (and funny at moments!), it reminded me of my own childhood Christmas memories.

A Child’s Christmas in Wales — written and narrated by the incredible Welsh poet Dylan Thomas.
“She said the right thing, always. She looked at the three tall firemen in their shining helmets, standing among the smoke and cinders and dissolving snowballs, and she said: “Would you like anything to read?”
I LOVE this poem. Brings back memories of Christmas and makes me laugh so much. I recommend it to everyone.

This was my first exposure, I think, to Dylan Thomas' work. It was sweet and full vivid metaphorical imagery. I just might read it again around Christmas.

A lovely, atmospheric Christmas book that I've read every December since I was given it. Small but full of beautiful illustrations (some colour, some black and white) and a touching story about a child's nostalgic memories of Christmas in Wales.

Thomas' work inspires me because the imagery, rhythm, and flow is the language of song.

A Child's Christmas in Wales by Dylan Thomas
Comical at times as the kids talk about years gone by when they were younger and the fun things they
would do around the holidays. Such fun memories.
I received this book from National Library Service for my BARD (Braille Audio Reading Device).

If there's anything nicer than finding that one of your favorite illustrators has illustrated one of your favorite pieces of writing, I don't know what it is! Bonus that my mother feels the same about both, and I therefore had someone to give it to for Christmas!

I've known of this book for ages, but never actually paid it any mind. I read it today, as it is very short, and I found it to be a gorgeously evocative memory of an earlier, simpler time.

What a magician with words, I wished I was beter in English to truely enjoy this poetic story to the max. I also loved how it was this simple story was made into something really big.
