3 and a half stars. This was much better than carries previous books. Her writing has improved tenfold but I also think it's due to her writing about something she's so familiar with, the theatre. Enjoyed it much more than her other books

The first time I came across this book was when I was in a bookstore (as always) and when I saw the description it said this book is a Moulin Rouge meets The Phantom of the Opera, me being a sucker for musicals and plays I knew I had to read this book.
This is my first book by this author, before this I never had heard of her before and I also just find out that she has a Youtube channel, which I guess makes the readers understand her choosing of stories more if they knew her from her channel.
Anyway, about the book": This was definitely and entertaining read, but it also includes triggering and sensitive subjects like; rape, suicide and etc. So, before you decide to read this be aware of the themes that are being dealt in the book.
I did like the time jumping that happened in the book, one was in the 50's and the other was present day. I liked the relationship between the 2 pairs that one happened in the past and the secons in recent years. I wasn't a huge fan of the writing style, sometimes it was repetitive.
But overall I liked it, it was fast paced, very entertaining and I just love everything that has to do with theatres.

I listened to this on Audible! I was very excited about it, I really like Carrie, I have followed her for years, so it was about time she released a book set in the theatre, I wouldn’t say it was a bad book, but it had potential to be better.
The book follows the production of a show called When the Curtain Falls, last performed in 1952 and it shows the ghosts of the last performance trying to bring to light what happened during that production.
Maybe I’ll give it another listen to see if my opinion changes, but from what I remember of it, it wasn’t as amazing I thought it’d be.

I would describe When The Curtain Falls as an enchanting, magical and heartfelt read, all set within the wonderfully atmospheric setting of a West End theatre. I found it charming, warm and immensely entertaining. Excited to see what Carrie Hope Fletcher will come up with next!

This was such a cosy read! Ghosts mixed with theatre and romance is bound to be a book that I love, and I did. Carrie Hope Fletcher did a brilliant job!
