It's BEOWULF in GRAPHIC NOVEL form! That alone earns it 3 stars. However, the art was lacking and I really didn't give a damn about any of the characters. I wanted more. I wanted to give a damn about their fate. Anyone's fate.

It's a very basic retelling and loses much of tone of the original as well as the literary devices that show how Beowulf was originally an oral tradition. The pictures were fantastic. This would pair nicely with a more authentic adaptation.

I had to read this book for my greek myth class and I would say it's a good retelling of Beowulf but I just don't really enjoy norse myth.

The illustrations are wonderful! I really liked the style of this book. I read it because some seniors shamed me into ot. Not on purpose. They asked me for some help (I'm a HS librarian) and I admitted I had not read it in HS when i was supposed to.
The story was ok. Granted, there is limited text, and I think I was really just getting the gist of the story. I didn't love it, but at least I can say I kind of know the story now, so there's that.

I thought this was a great graphic novel about Beowulf. I should have read the book but this was a nice short version and the graphics were scary.
