This is the first book in the series and while it a spin-off from the Marry the Scot series it can easily be read on its own. This is a good well written read and is a great enemies to lovers/second chance romance. I was pulled right into Lennox and Isobel’s story and just did not want to put it down I will be looking out for the rest of the series.

Cute. That's about the only thing that comes to mind about this one. I liked the hero Lennox alot. The heroine Isobel was meh for me. Nothing new there.

New to me author. Might give one or two more books a try in this series but otherwise I'm not sure their style is for me.

I had some issues with this book that hindered my enjoyment.

- The European backdrop and speaking style/slang. At times I honestly felt like I was reading another language.

This one is definitely character driven and on the slow side of medium paced. The characters are well developed, loveable, and realistically imperfect. The plot revolves around the MC's working through their own personal flaws and unique challenges with a focus on trying to figure out who they are and what they want out of life, so they can find their own brand of HEA. Insight is also given into the relationship dynamic of minor characters who are the focus of later books. I typically prefer reads that are plot forward and edgy, but if you are looking for sweet with complex characters and a side of spice, you will probably enjoy this series. I recommend reading in order.

The tension that starts between these two when they realise they see each other not as family friends but more. Knox is bossy and Isabel fights against that but grows to like it once he gets out of the military and they spend more time together. The spice between these two is soo good. Listening to this on audio and those accents takes it to another level.

I am obsessed with Lennox. The way he made his intentions clear and stood by them. All the misunderstandings were a little funny, but I’ve been too much.

Okay, I shockingly enjoyed this book but what I couldn't get over were the ages. The fact that they were 20 and 23 were just ... I mean... just stop it. So, in my mind, they were 32 and 35 and their parents just came to visit them a lot.

I need to find more books with older characters because I can't with the child BS.

Other than that, I liked the characters. Surprisingly enough, I'd like to give book 2 a-go. I think that's a success!
