I just couldn't get into it. I found myself skimming, waiting for the story to pick up and grab me, but it never did. Put it away at the halfway point.

I don’t think I should give this a star rating because I don’t ever like novellas - this book could easily have been two hundred pages longer and I would have been very happy. I read it because it was free and I wanted to know if the series was any good. Spoiler alert: it is. I went back and bought the first in the series and it’s very good.

This novella takes place after Alpha’s Savior, and is the story of Sam, Hayley’s friend who attended her bachelorette party (hen party; I think these books are British though no location is ever mentioned), and Sean, the local bar owner. After Hayley’s bachelorette party there was a fire that is briefly mentioned, and Sam was rescued. For most of the book it seems she suffers from some heavy PTSD. This is never addressed, though there is an HEA. That’s a novella though, and that’s why I need more.
