Political Romance

This isn’t my usual type of novel but I still found it enjoyable. I liked the description of powers the empath and incubus had, and that the incubus wasn’t a full on sex demon. He could derive energy simply by dancing with someone. The romance was light but this book isn’t romance heavy by any means. Most of the story revolves around negotiations to sign a treaty and becomes a book about political movements rather than a full-fledged romance story. There were moments where I felt the need to skin out of boredom or over explanation. Also, the main characters had moments of doubts/misgivings solely based on assumptions instead of just talking it out. The miscommunication trope happened a few too many times to be enjoyable.

Overall, the world building was very cool and there were quite a few likable characters. However, the romantic aspect was a little too far in the background for me. I recommend for those who prefer lighter reads.

Loved this! So cute and sweet (never thought I would use those words to describe a book with an incubus love interest). Turns out I like court politics and this book has it in spades. The FMC is whip smart and blunt, and not easily flustered, and I just loved her. The love interest is so soft and sweet, and deserves someone who will burn the world down for him. Very cute book.

Character names and places were confusing because it was just info dumped instead of organic. Too many side characters I’m sure will get their own books but are overwhelming at 15%. Barely any interaction between main characters by 15%. Plot did not make any sense and was boring.
