I went into this book, hoping that it would be a little more light than the last, and I was so wrong. I thought it started off promising the toxic character seemed to be taking a break and then it just went further and further and further into what can only be described as a mess. There are many trigger warnings I wish I knew prior because they really were intense. However, if I put all that aside I still just didn't like the book as a whole. there were some enjoyable characters, I liked Trevor, Zed, Kimberley, and even Richard. I think although Richard's story is a sad one that I think the representation is needed for that topic. But I overall began to really dislike the writing and the main characters. for instance, there are a lot of references to other women in the book, but they are always put down as less than Tessa (heroine) that i just thought was patronizing and distasteful. overall i didn't hate the book, i just didnt enjoy it and wouldn't recomment

I decided to read this book as I enjoyed the first two books and I wanted to know what was going to happen after the events of the second book.

This book still follows 18-year-old Tessa who is about to make the biggest change of her life. But with her making this change, everything else seems to be changing as well. New information about her family and then Hardin throws everything they knew before in doubt and makes Tessa choose between her future or the present with Hardin. Tessa is losing her control on her life. Nothing is what she thought it was. Not her friends, her family. The one person she should be able to rely on is furious when he discovers what she’s been hiding. This is set in Washington with a trip to England again. It is a contemporary romance new adult book.

My favourite bits of this book were Hardin’s chapters. I liked the additional point of views within this book. It was a good insight to see how he was feeling and what he was doing. I love Hardin’s humour; I think I relate to it more with him being British and being able to picture the British accent whilst he is talking. However, this book drove me nuts. The number of chapters there is in this book is insane and was annoying. All whilst reading this, I’m getting frustrated with Tessa, Hardin and Zed. Obviously, I know this is just the storyline of the book, but I really wanted to bang their heads together. I also know why I’m single. I know this isn’t a healthy relationship but my emotions in this book when from wanting to drag Tessa away or from them to kiss and make up. I feel like I need a therapy session from this especially after the rollercoaster of emotions. Plus the anger I felt towards Hardin, Steph and Christian was unhealthy.

I shouldn’t have liked this book as much as I did. Purely because of the anger I felt. However, I really did enjoy the storyline and I’m annoyed that Anna Todd has left it on another cliff hanger because now I need to read the fourth book to find out what happens.
