I LOVE JAX! I've loved Jax since The Fragile Fall , he's funny, charming, and passionate. When he first sees Cassie at the diner she works at, he knows that there is an undeniable attraction between them. Cassie fights of his attempts for personal reasons, but accepts later when Jax's persistence doesn't seem to stop. They fall fast and hard in love, but as time goes on the lies, even the heartfelt ones, become too much to handle.
The book alternates between the past and the present, it also includes both Cassie and Jax's perspectives. Kristy Love's second novel in the Undone series may be even better than the first!
P.S. I love the first book so that's saying a lot.
P.S.S. I can't wait for Roxie's story!
I recieved this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Kristy Love is a new-to-me author, and the synopsis caught my attention.
And when I read it, I could not put it down. I have not read the first book in the series, but this was not an issue at all.
Jax and Cassie's relationship was one heck of a rollercoaster ride.
From the minute we met Jax, I, like our leading lady Cassie, was enamoured. His words, his actions... swoon!
Cassie was very guarded with her heart - and when you find out early on why, you cannot fault her reasons.
Right from the very start, I felt like someone had taken the air from my lungs, had their hand around around my heart and had punched me in the gut - all at once.
As much as I adored Jax, there were so many times that I just wanted to slap some sense into him. And at the same time I wanted to give Cassie a talking to, much like her sister Roxie did.
There were a couple of twists and turns along the way, and as we all know, the road to true love is going to be rocky.
There were some fantastic secondary characters that I would really love to hear more about - Cassie's sister Roxie most of all.
I hope we get more of this series, and I will be making sure I go back and read book 1 in the near future.
I enjoyed Ms Love's style of writing. It took me a couple of chapters to get into the dual POV and past/present timelines but once I got into the swing of things, the story flowed well.
I look forward to seeing what Ms Love brings us in the future.

While Jax is out to eat with his sister and her husband Will (his best friend), he immediately feels a connection to their waitress Cassandra/Cassie. He can’t put his finger on it, but the way he is drawn to her is over powering. “Her beauty took my breath away and I really wanted to do things to her that weren’t appropriate for a diner.” Jax can’t help but fall in love with Cassandra almost immediately, even though she isn’t exactly making it easy on him. Jax always plays the role of being there for everyone around him. He tries to be the guy everyone can count on, taking on other peoples responsibilities, and saving them. Cassie has never had anyone to count on and has been let down her entire life, so she actually needs someone to be there for her and save her.
Years after Jax and his sister were abandoned by their mother he reconnects with her. On his 18th birthday his dad decided that Jax no longer needed him and he abandoned him. Jax feels that everyone he loves walks out of his life and leaves him completely alone. Cassandra is a young single mother whose family and boyfriend disowned her when she became pregnant. They all throw her out of their lives like trash and she feels all alone with no one by her side. She and Jax soon find themselves in a crazy romance, letting down their guards, only concentrating on the passion that engulfs their lives.
Jax has demons that he has pushed away all his life. Eventually, they are overpowering and he begins to spiral downward. He is also fighting his mother’s demons as she is a recovering addict who is now occasionally drinking. He soon finds himself down the rabbit hole drinking alcohol, trying to take care of his mother, selling drugs and worse, lying to Cassie. Cassie know that there is something going on, she can feel it in her gut, but every time she tries to reach out to Jax, she is shut out. Since she loves him, she keeps making excuses to herself for him until finally she can’t do that anymore. After a tragedy in Jax’s life happens he goes even further into a black hole where no one, not his sister, his brother in law or Cassie can reach him. “I started drinking early and kept nursing the bottle all day, keeping the feeling alive. I craved the numbness that alcohol brought. I hated it. And I loved it. It’d cost me everything, but it was the only thing that didn’t leave me when shit got bad.” When he puts Cassie’s son in danger, she has no choice but to face the dreaded reality and walk away from the man she loves, to save the child she loves more.
Five years later, Cassie becomes reacquainted with an old friend from her past, Nolan. They begin spending time together and Nolan quickly falls in love with her. Her heart still belongs to Jax, but Nolan is a much safer choice. He loves her, has a good job, loves her son, and will take care of her. When he purposes she says yes and they begin planning their future, only she continues to have doubts. “What did it mean that I was about to walk down the aisle to my future husband and I was dreaming about another man?” She tried to put those feelings and doubts out of her head, but when Jax shows up at her wedding after not seeing her for five years, she can no longer run from the feelings. When she meets up with Nolan for closure she says goodbye and walks out of the restaurant. “I had no idea where my life was headed from here, but I finally was taking control. I was no longer a passenger in my own life, I was taking charge and doing the things I needed and wanted to do to make myself happy. As long as I did that, my life would be okay.” Will she be able to find her way back to Jax? Can Jax overcome the demons that haunt him and make it impossible to be with someone? “We stood there, wrapped around each other, both of us crying, my heart shattering more and more with every passing second. She cried loudly and violently into my chest and I held her, wanting to take the pain and the hurting away. Finally, she pushed away from me and wiped her eyes. They were swollen and still filled with tears. ‘I have to go,’ she said. Before I could say anything else, she got in her car and she was gone. It felt like goodbye.”
