A good old times.
I love addicted/calloway sisters series more then words can describe, but this was more less stuff we know.
Garrison and Willow are super cute together and I do get so heat -warmed by reading about my favourite fictional characters/ family.
So ready for more.

I’m smiling, a full-blown smile that I haven’t felt in years, honestly. I shake my head at myself. You’re in way too deep, Abbey. I know.

This book was so so so cute. Just a heads up that this review is more of an Addicted Series nostalgia review than an I’m-actually-analyzing-stuff-review, because I have missed being in the Addicted world.

First of all, I now admit that I should’ve read this before the Like Us series because it was pretty disorienting to essentially go back in time 20 years, especially because I know what happens to Willow and Garrison already. But I’m glad that I read this book now rather than waiting until I reread the whole series because I loved it.

Honestly, despite the fact that it can be read as a standalone series, please don’t. It’s so much better if you know all the side characters that are mentioned! I loved all of the glimpses we got of the core six that weren’t mentioned in the main series.

Rose and Connor wear these regal golden crowns. I don’t even think they’re plastic. Like, legit crowns. The Cobalts have to be the most extra people I know, and honestly, I can’t believe I work for one of them.

Now let’s talk Willow and Garrison. They are such a great couple, and I loved seeing how they became friends first because their story in the main series was very cut off. Some of their scenes were the cutest I’ve read in this whole book world.

Willow was an amazing protagonist. The way Garrison explained her personality was the best: she’s shy but brave, which makes for a very interesting person. I loved how she could move away from home to meet someone she barely knew but had trouble giving Garrison a hug.

And Garrison’s story was just heartbreaking. We already knew what happened from Lo and Lily’s perspectives, but reading about his home life firsthand was completely different. I loved seeing him breaking out of his “bad boy” shell and being true to himself.

Well…
This was a quick read, but also, kind of boring. My favorite parts were mostly the ones with the core six.

I find myself not being able to express anything I felt for this book. Did I like it? Enough, I guess. Did I hate it? Not really.. but then I realized I didn’t care enough to feel strongly about anything happening in this book except its side characters. But the thing that upsets me most, in a very mellow way, (because, again, I didn’t care enough to feel any strong emotion), is the fact that, the two things that stand out the most to me in the “I don’t care” list are the relationship and the main characters. I only started liking them and their relationship and feeling something more than disinterest towards the end.

It seems to me, that when a book is supposed to be about a romance between two characters, it goes without saying that said book should be centered on said relationship… let me tell you, this book did not. Or at least, it didn’t feel like it to me. I found myself more often than not forgetting that this was supposed to be a romance, and this went on for a good chunk of the book (up until 65%). I very much enjoyed the back and forth between the past and present, but most often than not it just felt.. weak, and I enjoyed the past a lot more, at least there you could SEE a “relationship”. The present just made it look like two people leaving separate lives and we’re getting each of them from different POVs. I didn’t feel the angst, I didn’t feel the longing, the hurt and the missing of each other it was supposed to portray. (Although, to be completely honest, Garrison’s POV was a bit better on this). I felt nothing.

In all honesty, this felt more like a filler book than a first installment in a duet.. Which, when you think about it, if this is the first book, what is it filling up for?

I wish I could say this book disappointed me, but I went into it with very low expectations, so none of it surprised me. I guess, at some point, when the authors disappoint you countless times, you just end up expecting it until you don’t feel it anymore because it’s the norm.

The only saving grace to me and the sole reason I’m giving this book more than 2 stars are the core six scenes, as I mentioned before.

I’m still going to give the second book a chance because everyone is saying it’s much better, but as far as this one goes… absolutely not a favorite.

garrison abbey you might just be the blueprint!!!!

i'm giving this 4 stars because it wasn't really giving like the addicted books do but this is still a definite read if you love the addicted series! there's so many snippets of the core six you get in this plus it's so cute to see how garrison and willow fell in love!

Such a pleasure to go back to this world since the Calloway sisters are probably one of my favorite series. 
I really liked Willow and Garrison it was such a nice insight into their world since we don’t see much of them in the original series, so I’m excited to the second book.
