I have wanted to try Shanora Williams's thrillers ever since I saw Tarryn Fisher recommending them on Instagram. I ended up reading this one when I got it as a free download instead. I didn't even read the blurb. I might have passed on it if I had. I wasn't really my thing, but then, towards the end, there was a twist that got my attention. I was more invested in seeing how things would end. Then there was a cliffhanger! I didn't realize this was a series either. Big oops on my part. Now I might have to read the next book as well.
