hmm. these books are definitely fun killers-of-time. but if i wasn't so desperate to read something fluffy, i don't think these would have garnered a two from me.

Overall I enjoyed this one, but giving it 3 stars due to me being annoyed with Sophie for doing something really dumb and the adults around her going “eh, it’s no big deal.” First of all it was a big deal, and second of all that needs to be better conveyed to Sophie! Can’t just keep brushing stuff off in front of her then freaking out about it behind closed doors. While the punishment she got after almost getting the Ogre King to start throwing down in the middle of a freakin’ funeral was cruel, it was the first time it felt like Sophie faced the seriousness of her actions. While it was extreme, it’s better than “community service with your favorite alicorn” good lord I rolled my eyes at that option.

**MAJOR SPOILERS**
Finished December 3rd, 2022

This was my second time reading this, and boy, has it been an adventure. Literally so many things happened, and I don't even know how to make sense of all of it. So many things have been revealed, and only more will get revealed from here. This was so nostalgic but also heart-wrenching to say the least. There are no words to amount for the entirety of what the book has done and felt to me, but this was definitely the most chaotic out of the three. There was definitely character development but also things that didn't need to happen, which is why this is 4.5 stars.

For the most part, a lot of the things that happened were unnecessary and just made everything worse. But, this whole journey was amazing, and even through the ups and downs, Sophie had her friends by her side. And that's what matters. She might've didn't have friends when she was living with humans, but now she has friends that will go with her anywhere, no matter how dangerous it is, and parents that are protective, but also want the best for their kids and need them safe.

There a lot of events that ruled like half of the book, and needs to be addressed. First of all, WHY DID SWEET KENRIC HAVE TO DIE
