descriptionFairly decent cover on this one. Good representation of the hero. Good composition. Title work is a bit boring, but overall it's an OK cover.description

descriptionFinished this one last night and I have no time for a fancy schmancy review at the moment suffice it to say that I was very pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this book. The writing was great. The pace was excellent. The plot was original (at least I never read about humans being turned to werewolves in such a manner). No OW/OM drama. It was relatively slow burn, but we get some hot sex scenes later in the book. There was a great cast of interesting secondary characters, and both main characters were extremely likable. Lastly, it ends on a bit of a cliffhanger, but book two was just released so...YAY!description

I liked it, but
the Mal thing didn't make sense. It took 10-15 minutes for him to be captured, interrogated, punished for trying to change, had his throat slit, taken out, hung on a tree and found?

Also why aren't there books for Dante and Anders? I understand that there would not be plot for them, and that at least Dante's decision to mate could be polarizing, but does Finn's (unconscious sure) viscious attack mean Dante shouldn't find happiness?

Well, a werewolf/millionaire CEO fanfiction classic with a motherless child, nothing amazing but it does feel good once in a while. The characters are nice but I wasn't too used to the “OMG I'm so in love just by magic” thing but it was still cool.
I wouldn't go so far as to read all the other books in the series either.

Nice book but the last hour felt like the author just wanted to be done with the story. It was rushed and left a lot of open questions. I hope some will be answered in the next to books even though they have different main characters. Considering the build up I thought the climax was a bit anticlimactic. I also wished there was a female narrator too.

I really enjoyed this book! If I'm not mistaken, this is actually the first werewolf book I've read. It's made me eager to read more! The characters were really great. I really like how Jesse was with Oscar. I'm not sure if there's going to be a second book, the ending kind of makes it seem like there will be. I hope there is because I would definitely read it!

3.5 "I Protect Mine" stars!!

Blurb:
When Jessa Talbot’s boss offered her a promotion, she agreed—no questions asked. Her family needed the money, but fighting the attraction she feels for her brooding employer is tough. Worse, she instantly bonds with his infant son she’s caring for. But this is a temporary solution and she can’t get attached to either of them.

Finnegan Dean is cursed. He’s a nicely dressed monster, the wolf inside always looking for a way out. But there are two things he and his wolf agree on. They must protect baby Oscar and Jessa—his mate. While the wolf hungers to seal their bond, Finn fights the instinct. After all, if he really cares for her, he’d never doom her to the life he lives.

I enjoyed the premise of this story. For some reason, Finn's constant struggle with his wolf really humanized him. Not to mention the feelings and vulnerabilities unleashed by the presence of Jessa and baby Oscar.

Oscar's presence raised the stakes in a war between Finn's pack and the Others and he refused to allow his son or his mate to be casualties. I found the whole idea of how Finn became a wolf intriguing. It was a cool blend of urban myth, culture, and artistic license. I found the writing that let up to and flowed from this incident to be quite colorful and entertaining.

My only real issue with this story was its conclusion. It felt unfinished and I haven't located any leads as to a follow-up story. If there is, I'd be interested in finding out what happens next.

Release Date: April 24, 2017
Genre: PNR - wolf shifters
POV: Dual - 3rd person
Steam: 3 out of 5
Book Type: Standalone???
