Fun read! I still feel like Taylor is too nice to write a book like this—I feel similarly about his Black Label Hellblazer—but he quickly establishes this as not your typical Suicide Squad book and the differentiation is enough to make it work. The emotional beats needed more time to breathe and settle, and the politics—as correct and cathartic as they are—don’t actually have many teeth, which is a missed opportunity. But in a mainstream comic book, I’m happy to see how much Taylor got into this. A diverse cast of characters, some satisfying comeuppances, and vibrant artwork make this a very enjoyable, surprisingly breezy read. Again, it’s far lighter than a Suicide Squad series probably should be, but if you have the right expectations, it’s hard not to have a good time.

Was not sure what to expect, for a sometimes suicide squad fan this was more of a fun read then I expected. Some good twists, a total recasting of who is important, some touching moments, and a fair bit of the dark humor you would expect. Worth the ride.

An incredibly fun Suicide Squad book. This is not usually my favourite team to read, but Tom Taylor knocked it out of the park here. The characters are fun, the action exciting to read and the art in this book is amazing, especially the vibrant colours that were used. I was a big fan of the new characters that were introduced here, even though there were quite a lot of them and there really was only enough space on the page to get to know a few of them a little closer (although there is always space for future writers to explore).

Man, this was super fun. I’ve never really liked/cared about the Suicide Squad, but this was a really good story with fantastic art. I hope Taylor does more limited series like this.

A shockingly tight and engaging book, perhaps the first really excellent SUICIDE SQUAD book since John Ostrander. Bruno Redondo's design for new characters is delightful, incorporating a few distinctive body types and a nonbinary character, and Taylor has managed to wrestle with the politics of a black-ops crime team without letting it overwhelm the story. This is a fast-paced adventure with genuine character growth, solid banter, and excellent action.

If you are a fan of the Suicide Squad, you will most likely enjoy this comic! There are cameos from former members like Captain Boomerang, and there are also new members that are different from many other renditions of the team beforehand-this is a group of revolutionaries. This is not a group of villains working off their debt to society, they are a leftist group that wants to make the world better. They are dynamic, with characters that range from multiple ethnic and racial backgrounds, and many of them are queer as well. It’s a very diverse team, lead by fan favorites- Harley Quinn and Deadshot.
Fans of Deadshot will appreciate the issues where his daughter will make appearances. There is also an issue where the Flash makes an appearance. The newer characters fit in great with the larger DC universe and I hope to see them appear in more comics. The Aerie and Flick already have, but I want to see Osita and Thylacine and Chaos Kitten more.
If you don’t like politics in your comics, I would not recommend, but as I am someone who doesn’t mind, it doesn’t affect my rating or how I feel about the book.

This was a fun read. Nothing profound, and I didn’t really expect that, but definitely enjoyable! And unique enough of a Suicide Squad story to keep things interesting.
The art was decent, the story was decent, the character interactions were fun. Overall it was a solid read!

This felt like a movie tbh and omg its so good!
So we have a new team of heroes called the revolutionaries and yeah they are a bit extreme and we see what happens when they are drafted on the SS and led by a man named "Lok" and well his brutality is on full display here and then the big stuff starts when they are sent to this country named Badhnisia to install their puppet leader but the Revolutionaries have their own plans and will Deadshot and Harley join in or not? And then going against Boomerang which was fun and going rogue sort of and taking the fight to the authorities and uncovering whose behind it all aka Kord or someone else? And the reveal was so cool! And the big fight and the backstories in-between and then the emotional tether to the story with Osita and one of the best Deadshot moments ever!
Its an epic book with loads of action and yep its an action movie downright and delivers on so many great plots and you get the characters and sympathize with them and their motives and the emotional tethers are really good here but its also brutal, so many characters die and the big ones are just epic-ly done. Sort of good cameos by Batman and Superman and later JL but the confrontation with them was something else entirely.
So in short a great book which introduces a new team and lots of heroes and is brutal and lives up to its name really well! One of the best reads I have had this year!
