My husband insisted I read this when I was done with my current book, as he really loved it. I really enjoyed it as well! I had forgotten that I'd read her previous novellas, which were a little hit and miss.

This felt pretty deep and thoughtful, bursting with ideas, which is what the best science fiction does. I got some Ender's Game vibes now and then, and then the twists and turns started. I liked the flawed main character and enjoyed her growth, and I found the ending really satisfying. Well deserving of the Hugo, I think.

This book really went places, huh? I haven’t had a reading experience this captivating since RWARB. It’s hard to review without giving plot twists away but. Yeah. Very good book.

It also gets a lot of bonus points for being a stand-alone.
