3.75- I enjoyed it. It had a few parts that felt like it was dragging on but I couldn't stop listening.

3.5⭐️ Chloe Davis is a newly engaged psychologist living in Baton Rouge. Life and letting people in has not always been easy for her. Twenty years ago, when she was only 12, her father received a lifetime sentence behind bars for the murder of multiple young girls. Now, upon the twenty year anniversary, more young women begin to disappear, with one victim having personal ties to Chloe herself. When this new serial killer appears to be a copycat to her father’s murders, Chloe begins to doubt those around her and sets off on a race to determine if this new murderer is someone close to her.

There were a lot of positive parts to this thriller. The author did a great job building suspense and causing doubt / suspicion amongst the characters. It was fast-paced and the writing style was strong for a debut novel.

A personal preference, but I have a hard time really getting into books where the protagonist abuses drugs/ alcohol and then blacks out and misses an essential chunk of the story. Thus, I struggled to connect to Chloe and understand some of the choices she made. Also my initial guess about the ending was correct, which disappointed me a tiny bit though there were still many other surprises!

Gostei.
