In the beginning with Joan of Arc it was very white feminist-y, ie- smart, powerful women are to be feared but just ignores people of color people and the lower class but then as the character ages it definitely gets a lot less worse. However, if you're looking for representation don't read this because you won't find any, this is very much a historical romance with white people.

I was a bit disappointed by the twee nature of the love story here, everything else I have read featuring Jacquetta Woodville suggests a bit more conniving and this is more of a moonstruck girl and devoted friend story. But interesting background

It’s a bit hard to follow at times because the English nobility all of the same names. Would have loved a bigger dive into the witchy aspects of the book. Overall good…ending is anti climaxed and a bit predictable if not rushed

I knew I was going to love this book. It was a given. Jacquetta's life was quite the interesting one. And the unwavering love between her and her husband Richard was quite encouraging.
