I enjoyed the movie so much as a kid and now the book happens to be even more jolly. The descriptions are so honest (like a child would say it), so true and I love that. Wonka seems different than Depp in the movie, I like him better this way. And the grandpa of Charlie is even more Hilarious: jippie!!!

Somehow I missed reading this as a kid, but I decided to pick it up after my younger daughter finished it. And I pronounce it good! However, I liked the movie starring Gene Wilder just as much. Not sure what that says about Roald Dahl's classic tale. Perhaps just that the original "Willy Wonka" screenwriters were exceptionally talented.

Listened to this on audiobook on the car ride to France, and it made the trip feel a lot shorter! This was such a fun and beautiful read, and I really have to watch the movie again soon. Charlie is such an adorable guy! And the grandpa, just, aww

A childhood classic that is enjoyable even now when I'm in my 20's! As a kid, I loved this book so much. I wanted a quick re-read, and I am so glad I picked this one back up. I loved the silliness of it all, and I'm happy I own this specific edition with the pretty cover and illustration. Overall I would highly recommend.

Since I have seen both adaptations first I cannot help but compare this to those movies.  Tim Burton's movie does follow the plot in detail more, but I think Gene Wilder is a more accurate interpretation of Wonka.  Charlie is a boring main character, but it could work if you're trying not to make things complicated for children and teach them to be a good, kind person.  I like the creative way Dahl teaches his lessons about not being greedy, selfish, or disrespectful.  I don't agree that television is the worse thing in the world.  I think is all about parents monitoring their children's viewing habits, but  I do like putting the importance of reading books.

Adivinha quem ficou?

Livro divertidíssimo!
