I’m torn between liking and just feeling… indifferent towards this book. Originally picked up because a friend kept recommending it but I’m not super big into vampires so I was skeptical from the start. It just seems very unrealistic to me that a happy ending could ever come out of this book. If bloodlust is such a big thing and these different groups of vampires are literally encouraged by Nyaxia to wage wars against each other I just… don’t get how this will turn out believably well. Which I assume is the goal but maybe not. Have yet to decide if I want to finish the series.

This book doesn't even try to be original. I've read this story about a dozen times before. Feisty, angsty human heroine against the big bad wolf, who's really just a brokenhearted softie underneath it all. The writing is inconsistent, the world building barely there and after the first 100 pages or so the plot sizzles out completely. I kept going because I hoped I would see what everyone else was seeing but I just checked and after 15 hours of listening, I still have 2 left and I just don't have it in me anymore. 

Oh, YA, what a tragic story the two of us make. Not enemies-to-lovers but lovers-to-strangers?

It’s giving Twilight meets the Hunger Games, except with one of the worst covers I have ever seen.

I love Broadbent’s writing, how she writes MMC’s that are soft with their love interests, and that feel things so deeply.

The best book I’ve read this year.. I absolutely loved it. I read this in one sitting I couldn’t put it down. I loved the banter and relationship between Oraya and Raihn. 
The twist at the end was totally unexpected and I’m now diving into book 2
