I will agree with everyone that the last 50 pages of this are absolutely wild and had me super emotional. That being said, I kind of got frustrated with many of the characters throughout this book. I think it’s because this has the ruthless and emotionless type of vampires that I think are really well suited for high fantasy but make it really hard for character development and connection which is something I really look for in a fantasy romance. I’ll definitely continue on because I’m so intrigued with what will happen after that ending but I definitely wouldn’t agree that this lives up to all the hype it’s getting.

I’m not sure why I took so long to read it, but now I’m hooked and I’m not letting go. I could do without the end fight, I’d rather the king lived and our two mcs joined together happily in love but I GUESS, I’ll go for some drama. I just hope its a one time thing.

Hunger Games + Underworld = Serpent and The Wings of Night

I still LOVED IT!

Listen here, I’m still recovering from the EMOTIONAL TRAUMA this book gave me. The last 15% of this book did not happen, okay? We shall not talk about it.

What I Liked

I have a list. I liked the character was already damaged, the father had 1,000 conflicting emotions (Jekyll and Hyde sort of vibes), the getting to know the MMC was a pleasure, and the reveals were shocking. It made me tear up!! ALSO… I REPEAT THAT LAST PART IS NOT REAL!!!!!

What I Didn’t Like

There were some things that were plot convenient, such as the fact they can leave the Moon Palace. I get is to build more the Father and Daughter relationship, but it felt too convenient. I also wished that I could know more about the magic system.

I cannot tell you how much this book made me feel. I was frustrated, shocked, horrified, loved, and devastated. I recommend it!
