Gah I love this series - even after watching the tv series. I envisioned the actors playing these characters - just made it better.
Sofia Suarez is found brutally murdered - the motive is driving Rizzoli crazy. A quiet widow, nurse at a local hospital, no debts, no questionable behavior. Just some weird search history on her laptop - found at a local park's lake, destroyed. With the help of a teenage tech wiz neighbor, Rizzoli and Frost piece together Sofia's last few weeks.
Leading them to a 19 yo cold case homicide in Maine. And the lead suspect, the father - vanished within weeks of Sofia's murder.
Angela has her own crisis happening - a missing teen, daughter of a close neighbor friend; a new couple move in, only to reject her friendly overtures; not to mention installing bars on the windows.
Love these characters. Great family and friends. Quick and enjoyable read.

3.5 stars - it has been 4+ years since reading the last installment of the Rizzoli & Isles series and while I don't remember much, I enjoyed this book more than the last few. The story focuses mostly on the murder and while there is finally some progress in their personal lives (especially for Maura), those details are not overdone or too present. Fans of the series will enjoy this book.

I used to love the Rizzoli and Isles series. I watched it religiously. But for some reason, I never picked up the books. And I’m mad at myself now. The book was like a great episode of the show. I could hear the characters speaking as the actors that portrayed them on TV. Utterly satisfying. I am going to have to pick up some more books in the series.
