While not the most exciting thing I've read from this series, I found this novella enjoyable enough. It doesn't really fill in any gaps from the main series, but it's a nice little side story that gives readers a look at what Abigail's been up to and the dilemma Peter and Nightingale face in regards to furthering her training.

Another quick side story from the main plot of the series. Because of the nature of the case, it felt almost like a case file rather than the full force investigations that we see in the full novels. Also some bits of intrigue with a new river spirit and Abigail's progress.
