The content of this was super relatable and honest to me! Especially the parts about quitting a job you hate, finding a therapist that will work for you, imposter syndrome, and being not young but also not old and how your priorities and actions change. I really liked the format of this book, the graphics mixed with chunks of text.

This book is honestly a contender for my favorite of 2020, and it is rare for me to narrow down a favorite. Barley Functional Adult just so happens to speak to exactly where I am in life right now, and it does so with fabulous insight and delightful humor! I took a step back from social work in February (for some context I have an MSW and have been in the social work field for over a decade). Since then I have continually felt lost and unsure of the next steps in my life. Reading a book that essentially confirmed that I am not alone in this feeling and also that it is OKAY, was exactly what I needed right now. I am so thankful for this book and plan to get myself a physical copy as soon as possible!

Funny, deep, addresses our fears without putting any mask onto it, existential dread and whatnots.
Totally recommend

Cute, short, and relatable. The comics and illustrations were sometimes laugh-out-loud funny, and it was a quick read. I sometimes felt like the content was a little repetitive, but overall it's something I'm glad I read! It certainly makes me feel less alone as a fellow Barely Functional Adult.

About the art work: Art work is simple and clean with no back ground stuff and I like it even more as it conveys the message in simple manner. Only characters and explicitly mentioned objects are drawn. Love it.
She talks about her dis-functional adult life and writes some soothing lines that are relatable. I don't one would relate with everything she writes but on the abstract notion of things they all seem relatable.
Just read it. It is a max 4 hour read.
