Wow- just wow! I don’t even know where or how to begin with this book! It is one of my top favorite reads of this year & on my top recommendations!

The Stillwater Girls follows two lead characters in two completely different worlds. You first meet Wren, an 19 year old living at a cabin in the woods with her Mama & 2 younger sisters. Homesteading is all they’ve known. They are true homesteaders with no electricity, no way to communicate with the outside world, nothing but their family, livestock, and cabin. And the girls were told by Mama to never go into the woods because the world is such a wicked place.

But one day Mama and their younger sister Evie leave because Evie was extremely sick. When you begin the story it’s been several months since they have left and never returned. The two oldest daughters tough it out as they wait but winter is harsh, supplies are low, and suddenly a Man appears at their cabin looking for their Mama.

Nicolette lives in Luxury, unlike the Stillwater Girls. Money has never been an issue for her and honestly it sounds like her life is perfect. Expect that her marriage isn’t what she thought it was these last ten years. She finds something in her husband’s sock drawer that has her wondering if he’s cheating on her. She’s very good at keeping herself composed and smart to not say anything until she has all the proof she needs.

You might be wondering, how do these two completely worlds collide? You have to read to find out and trust me when I say your mind will be blown once you do.

I have nothing negative to say about this book. I mean seriously it was written beautifully and I really enjoyed going back and fourth between the two main Characters, Wren & Nicolette. You will become hooked from the start and no able to put this book down. I tried to read it slower but once I got to the 50% mark, I couldn’t put the book down and finished within a day.

I highly recommend giving this book a try!

The story was engaging overall and the twist was pretty unexpected. However, I struggle to believe that nobody found the girls over the course of 19 years, when the cabin was literally in the forest that they lived next to? I also thought that the husband’s brother’s motivation to kidnap his niece was pretty flimsy.

I’m all for a thriller or suspense book that plays with the boundaries of realism, but the last portion of the book was entirely too unrealistic & it did sour the enjoyment of the twist.

I enjoyed this one thoroughly and would totally recommend it to others who like a page-turner mystery. Having said that, I feel like I should warn that the reader is going to have to put their common sense and knowledge of reality on a shelf for a fair bit of the story line. It's got enough footing in reality for the first two-thirds, that you can forgive the handful of Lifetime-esque movie script ideas and the "tied up nicely with a neat bow" final third of the book and just enjoy the ride.

Beautifully written. Kept me hooked the entire time. The plot twists at the end made it even better

I really really enjoyed this. I found it fast-paced, intriguing, and fascinating. I was enamored with the characters and how the story unfolded. It was not at all how I expected based on the cover, if I'm being honest. My only critique is I thought some of the big reveal was a teensy bit too far fetched and I'll leave it at that. It is fiction, however, so I'm filing that under "I was still extremely entertained" vs "that's too unrealistic for me to still enjoy this story thst I clearly loved." I know not everyone would agree but that's why books are so awesome. ❤
