The conclusion to the Revenger trilogy is an enjoyable and exciting adventure. The Ness sisters continue their quest to unravel the mysteries about the congregation. They are split up for much of the book, with Fura taking on vindictive Revenue agent Stallis, while Adrana seeks to deliver an alien fugitive in exchange for a promise of information. It was an exciting story with some unexpected turns and revelations; however I felt it left too many unresolved questions to be a satisfying conclusion to a trilogy (e.g. the poisoned skull and it's connection to the whaleship, Stallis' powers, who was misusing the quoins, Strambli and Revenger). It felt like Reynolds had planned a 4th book, but then decided to leave it as a trilogy.

Reynolds can't write endings for the life of him.
Book 2 and 3 are really really bad.

A fine conclusion to this series. The setting and its 'tech' remain by far my favorite aspect, though the rest was pretty good too - if a little unfinished/phoned in toward the end.

No queer characters but also no relationships period; a strangely limp little nod toward social justice issues and the flaws in capitalism but nothing terribly impressive.

Kind of a blah ending ultimately, though as usual the middle bit had some great action and tension.

In true Reynolds fashion, Revenger and Shadow Captain were leading up to something in Bone Silence, and it was worth the wait. My only regret is knowing that Reynolds has put the series aside (for now) but maybe not forever.
